A collection of poems about regeneration, recuperation, reclamation and retreat, in which the poet reflects on visits, both literal and virtual, to remote parts of Greece, Andalucia and Southern India.

Liz Almond''s second collection of poems, Yelp!, is about recuperation and retreat. Almond reflects on her visits to far-flung places; from remote parts of Greece and Southern India to Andalucia, where she has a tiny house.

"The ground of her work is the family, but the family as we might recognise it from Greek tragedy, writ large, its pains and relationships as vivid and terrifying as war. There is nothing domestic about this book."
Jo Shapcott

"A very attractively-produced poetry collection. Liz Almond writes smoothly with a practised hand."
John Idris Jones

Liz Almond was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, grew up in South London and has lived for many years in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire. She has taught Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University''s Alsager Faculty and at the University of Huddersfield.
