Overview
Tabitha and the Raincloud is a heart-warming story of optimism, resilience, and finding sunshine through the rain!
“Tabitha and the Raincloud is an enjoyable story about emotions, self-regulation and resilience and is suitable for children aged 4+ years. This picture book would be an asset to the primary classroom, offering teaching opportunities for social and emotional learning as well as language and literacy (idioms, metaphors and inferencing).”
This story helps children see that by changing their focus to look for the positives and find the fun insituations, they can change their mood and thus how others feel being around them. The storyfacilitates counsellors, parents or teachers to help children work out what they can do to preventbeing taken over by a bad mood. Suitable for 4 – 9-year-olds.
As soon as Tabitha wakes up and finds a raincloud next to her, she knows it’s going to be one of those yucky days when nothing goes right. Sure enough, Tabitha’s mood gets worse and worse, until she realizes that she doesn’t have to let a raincloud spoil her day.
This is a story of choices, optimism and perseverance, which shows that with a little emotional resilience, we can make ourselves and others happier. It’s also a gentle reminder that sunshine is never far away if we know where to look!
