La Lucha: Latin American Feminism Today

In recent years Latin America has become a global flashpoint in the feminist struggle within many different key areas: environmentalism, anti-colonialism, human rights, with striking, game-changing results at government and legislative levels. With the aim to raise awareness of the radical changes that are taking place in the region to the English-speaking reader, Charco Press has invited 30 of the continent’s leading authors, intellectuals and activists to write essays offering their perspectives on the challenges facing women’s rights today: from the patriarchy to femicide, to the inflections of identity embedded in colour, class, or in indigenous cultures.
