Overview
This book celebrates the enduring beauty and wonder of trees with an anthology of photographs that reveal these diverse and ancient plants in a new light - from tropical mangroves to suburban topiary and tangled hedgerows. The images in this exquisitely bound book have a strong slant towards contemporary photography - looking at newer, more unusual projects that capture a wealth of forms, landscapes and ecosystems. Far away from traditional and sometimes predictable images of majestic oaks, these pictures are shot using a variety of techniques - some experimental - that confront our often destructive relationship with these mysterious and life-sustaining plants. This book contains the work of 24 established photographers from around the world.
