Overview
The season between Pentecost and Advent, known as Ordinary Time, invites us to live as Christians in the here and now. But as this beautiful book reminds us, living in the here and now is anything but ''ordinary'' because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. His death and resurrection inaugurated a new life, one which is empowered by the gift of the Holy Spirit. Eighth Day Prayers: Daily Joy for Ordinary Time calls us to be faithful disciples in this transformative season as we grow in our faith, speak of Jesus''s love to the world, and devote ourselves to caring for one another in the church. This gentle yet powerful guide encourages us to pray words directly from Scripture. Each entry features: a Scripture passage to usher you into God''s Word; a brief reflection to take you deeper into the biblical text; a Scripture-soaked prayer to conclude your quiet time and refocus your day; and a calendar at the top of each page to help you find your place.
